Template Tuesday: Featured Template – Sail Away

Inspiration Source: KiddyKit Designs
Basic Materials: 12×12 design template, 4 Elements – 1 photo, 1 paper: 1 plain, 2 potential embellishments
Supporting Materials: Color swatch
Tools: Adobe Photoshop
Details: What’s your preference? Trick or Treat? A trick is usually incurred – in the form of mischief – if a treat isn’t given. Historically Scottish children would work for their treats – by performing a trick of some sort. This process was know as guishing.
Halloween! What a festive time of year. The only time when being yourself is frowned upon.

Upcoming: Check back 12/22/2011 for the final design

Design Thursday – Featured Design: Happy Holidays to You

The holidays is my favorite time ever. Just the energy in the air is enough to make anyone happy, it feels like there is never a dull moment.

For me the best part of the holidays is making another person happy, making someone smile, seeing others excited, watching friends and family open presents and beaming with joy – this makes me happy. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy opening a present or two, because like everyone I love the surprise of a wrapped present.

I came across this picture from ages past and had to scrap it. The smiling faces just screamed simply having a Wonderful Xmas Time.

This layout brings back fond memories of Xmas day. I can’t hardly wait for Xmas 2011.

Design Thursday – Featured Design: Thanks 2 Autumn

Thanksgiving is a day to remember to give thanks for blessings big and small. It’s a time for reflection, a time when all is right with the world if only for a moment.

This year we had Thanksgiving dinner for the first time with the in-laws. That in itself was a challenge, let’s just say we all didn’t get along. Adults will always be problematic but the kids had a blast.

Autumn was 21 months old and still the baby of the family. She had smiles, and laughter to go around, releasing the tension in the air. The men played dominoes, the ladies dealt with the food, the children ran everywhere. The event was one to be remembered.

To recreate: layer paper on top of blue patterned paper. add photo cluster – include balloons and hearts diecuts, add a strip of blue patterned paper between the flower cluster and add to the layered papers, add flower pot and photo, add to the layered pattern paper, add journal strips with journaling, and title.
